Patrick Mahomes is arguably the best player in the NFL, but he might be even more skilled at another surprising sport. Read more in detail here: when was patrick mahomes born.
Patrick Mahomes is, without a doubt, the greatest player in the NFL. In only three seasons as a starter, the 26-year-old has already earned three Pro Bowl appearances, won an MVP award, and guided the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl win.
Mahomes, on the other hand, may be even better at a sport that few people would expect: ping-pong.

Growing up in Tyler, Texas, Mahomes was a great athlete. In his adolescent years, he was clearly a gifted quarterback, but he also excelled on the basketball court and in baseball at Whitehouse High School.
When it came time to select a college, Mahomes chose Texas Tech because it offered him the opportunity to play football and baseball. He left baseball following his second season with the Red Raiders to concentrate entirely on football. It’s fair to say he made the correct decision.
In 2017, Mahomes was drafted into the NFL. He famously waited out his first season as Alex Smith’s backup, but a year later he earned the position and has blossomed ever since. In his debut season as a starter, the quarterback tossed an NFL-high 50 touchdown passes and led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game, where they were defeated by Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Mahomes and the Chiefs went all the way to the Super Bowl the following year, defeating the San Francisco 49ers. They returned to the Super Bowl in 2021, but were defeated by Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That’s three AFC Title berths, two Super Bowl appearances, and a championship in his first three years as the starter, if you’re keeping count at home.
Mahomes has thrown for over 15,000 yards and 128 touchdowns in 50 career starts. He’s already on his path to being a Hall of Famer, and he may be the greatest player in the NFL.
Mahomes, on the other hand, could be a better Ping-Pong player.
Ping-Pong may be Patrick Mahomes’ favorite sport.
It’s hard to think Mahomes might be better in a sport other than football, but it’s possible.
The Athletic published a new Mahomes article that highlighted how serious the quarterback is about table tennis. Mahomes’ favorite sport, according to Hunter Rittimann, a former teammate and roommate at Texas Tech, “may be Ping-Pong.”
When he’s not on the football field, Mahomes sits at his kitchen table and plays. He approaches the game in the same manner as he does football, and he analyzes his opponents on a daily basis to identify their weak points.
According to The Athletic, “he can combine strength and elegance — and he takes great pleasure in his defense.”
Don’t confront Mahomes on the football field or at the Ping-Pong table, please.
Flexing against the opposition
Mahomes flexed his muscles after scoring the game’s first touchdown against the 49ers in Super Bowl 54, but it wasn’t a celebration he created on the field. His table tennis skill is the source of the flex.
Mahomes likes to speak trash on the Ping-Pong table, according to Nic Shimonek, a former backup quarterback at Texas Tech. Mahomes would flex his right arm the same way he did in the Super Bowl everytime Shimonek lost.
When Mahomes departs from the NFL, he may have a second sports career lined up.
