Former MLB player John Rocker has been granted joint custody of his 4-year-old son, after a court ruled that the boy was traumatized by losing contact with his father. This means he can still see parts of dad from time to time, but not all the time.
Tiger Woods has recently made headlines for his return to the sport of golf. His son, Charlie, was born in 2009 and he is able to be a dad somewhat again.
Tiger Woods was never able to spend as much time with his two children as he desired before suffering a litany of leg injuries in a catastrophic vehicle accident in February. A professional golfer’s life is a never-ending grind, with frequent travels throughout the globe and limited opportunities for rest.
Woods’ death-defying mishap, according to close friend and fellow great golfer Justin Thomas is an American football player who plays for the, has been a gift in disguise, as he’s now been “able to be a parent” again.
Tiger Woods is experiencing his own kind of Groundhog Day.
It’s been nine months since Woods was engaged in the world-famous single-car collision. The golf star sustained comminuted open fractures to his right tibia and fibula, as well as further ankle and foot injuries.
Every day in recovery, Woods has been trying hard to get back on the golf course, but he feels like he’s become his own version of Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.
During a recent interview on the No Laying Up podcast, Thomas, who has been close friends with Woods for years and regularly visits him at his Jupiter, Florida home, gave us an update on Woods’ recuperation.
“When I’m home,” Thomas added, “I usually go over and visit him two or three times a week.” “I go over there mostly to let our dogs run around and play. It exhausts our dog. He’s doing OK, however. All things considered, I believe he is… It’s Groundhog Day, after all. For him, it’s the same thing every day.”
Tiger Woods is “able to be a parent” again, according to Justin Thomas.

Woods may not be able to do what he loves most and participate on the PGA Tour every week, but his time away from the game has had some benefits. While recovering from his injuries, Woods has appreciated being able to spend more time with his son, Charlie, and daughter, Sam, according to Thomas.
At the very least, he can… Pictures of him at Charlie’s tournaments and Sam’s soccer events were circulating. He’s able to be a Dad again in certain ways, which is the most essential thing.
It’s simply that he wants to be a father and share those moments with him while also watching him play. And to be a part of Sam’s life by going to her soccer events since she’s such an athlete and clever. That’s what he wants to accomplish, and I’m sure his competitive nature won’t allow him give up without at least giving it a go at some time.

Tiger hasn’t lost his fun-loving attitude despite the uncertainties surrounding his professional golf career.
“He’s still the caustic a**hole he’s always been,” Thomas remarked. “So I’m pleased to see he’s still as cheerful as ever.”
“He’s going to try,” Thomas said of Tiger’s prospects of returning to the PGA Tour.
Tiger has previously beaten almost impossible odds on many occasions. What makes you think he won’t do it again?
Thomas isn’t sure whether Woods will return to the PGA Tour at some time, but he’s not ready to rule it out just yet.
“I don’t know,” Thomas remarked. “I mean, I know he’s going to try.” “If he can’t play well, I don’t see him ever playing.” He doesn’t strike me as a guy who has played at home and is shooting 75s and 76s and then decides, ‘OK, I’ll give Augusta a go this year.’ That’s not going to be him, at least not according to what I know about him.
“Of course, I’m hoping he does.” But, as I mentioned after the tragedy, the most important thing is for him to be able to be a father and be normal again. And everything else is a bonus.”
Even if Woods never returns to the golf field as a professional, he’ll be able to see his children grow up in ways he never imagined.

The “father-son golf tournament format” is a new event that will be held this year. The first father-son golf tournament will be held in June 2018, and the second one will take place in September 2018.
