In a press release, Awaceb announced that Tchia will be showcased at the PlayStation Showcase 2021. The game is set to launch in early 2019 and will feature a new style of gameplay.
The tchia download is a platformer game that was unveiled at the PlayStation Showcase 2021. Tchia is an African word meaning to make something happen.
During the PlayStation Showcase 2021 event, Awaceb, the creators of Fossil Echo, presented their new game Tchia. Awaceb’s director, Phil Crifo, characterizes it as a toy box-type game that is inspired by Studio Ghibli’s aesthetic and pays homage to New Caledonia, where the company is located.
Tchia follows the same-named heroine as she discovers the wonderful world around her.
Tchia was given the power to view the world through the eyes of any living thing by Awaceb, and the trailer shows her soaring as a bird before transitioning to a dog’s perspective as Tchia digs in the dirt.
Tchia’s music was created with the assistance of choirs of indigenous New Caledonian singers, but Crifo and Awaceb also want the atmosphere to draw players in.
Everything, even the trees, is intended to evoke a feeling of belonging to the land and Tchia’s position within it. Tchia can leap into the air with the aid of trees, and she can also do flips, dive from cliffs, and even sail on her own raft.
Tchia will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2022. It will also be released on Steam at some point, according to the game’s product page, which merely states “coming soon.”
